Is Facebook Just a Waste of Time Part 2: Utilize Facebook to the Max!

As promised here is part 2 where I shall be revealing how I use Facebook as an essential aspect within my Internet business.

It is my opinion that so many Internet Marketers out there are not using Facebook the way it should be used in order to maximize their business efforts. In this article I will be sharing with you my thoughts on how Facebook should be utilized by all Internet entrepreneurs.

Firstly for Facebook to have the most impact for you, it needs to be set up correctly. You should be using this social networking site as a way to brand yourself, so when people come across your page they will immediately see your picture and then will look to the short profile box below. Your profile picture does not have to be a picture of you all suited and booted, people want to see who you are so it is very important to have a picture. Fill out the information tab and put your contact details in as well as a little bit about yourself so people will very quickly get a sense of who you are, also add your website links but make them a click-able link so that they are easily accessible to people (this is the http:// bit!!). If your information is bold and straight to the point it will grab their attention, but you also want to try and get your personality across as much as possible which is easily achieved with Facebook as opposed to Twitter for example. It might be hard to believe this but so many people actually don't complete any of these basic steps when setting up their profile page, so get it set up correctly and you will definitely stand out from the crowd!

Finding the right kind of like minded people to network with also is not as easy as you would think. It's not just a case of searching random peoples names and adding as many strangers as you can possibly find. This is not a a targeted market and it is likely that you will be reported for spamming. The trick is to join as many groups within your niche and add the people within these groups, it is more likely these individuals are like-minded and more likely to be interested in you and your business.

Do not bombard your new friends with your business opportunity, this is not the way to go about it that's for sure! Remember that this is social networking, and people only respond well to others who take an interest in them. It is considered highly unprofessional to just shout 'Hey look at me, buy into my opportunity!'. If you don't do anything else with Facebook on a daily basis, then the one thing you should be doing is checking the home page to see what recent activity your contacts have been getting up to, here you can comment on anything you like and offer support the second it may be needed.

Facebook is an opportunity to help each other out, offer advice to people, get to know them and take an interest in them and if you practise all of these tips on a daily basis then believe me you will definitely be rewarded for your professionalism in the long run.
